Voles

Voles, also known as meadow mice, are small rodents with rounded bodies and short tails. They closely resemble mice but have a stockier build and shorter tails. Voles typically have brown or grayish fur with lighter underbellies. Look for surface runways and shallow burrow systems in lawns and fields, often visible as narrow, worn pathways through vegetation. They are herbivores, feeding on plants, roots, and seeds.
