Pavement Ants

Pavement Ants

Pavement ants are small, brown ants commonly encountered in urban and suburban environments. They prefer nesting under sidewalks, driveways, and cracks in pavement. Opportunistic feeders, they scavenge for sweets and proteins and may occasionally invade homes. Pavement ants are about 1/8 inch long, typically dark brown to black, with a distinctive two-segmented waist. While not aggressive, they can become a nuisance when entering homes in large numbers, requiring effective pest management strategies such as sealing entry points and removing food sources.
